Andrew
Brogowicz Dr. Andrew A. Brogowicz has administrative responsibility for all undergraduate business programs in the Haworth College of Business, as well as for the Marketing, Advertising and Promotion, Food and Consumer Packaged Goods Marketing, and Sales and Business Marketing majors and minors. His primary teaching and research interests include new product development, marketing strategy, and sales management. He is a member of the WMU Athletic Board. Before joining the WMU faculty in 1979, Andy served as an assistant professor of marketing at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He also taught marketing classes as a graduate student at Wayne State and at Michigan State, where he was awarded a Ford Motor Company Summer Marketing Fellowship. Prior to receiving his doctorate, Andy worked in food retailing with A&P Food Stores; as a market analyst in the Ford Tractor Equipment Marketing Operations Department; and as a planning consultant for the Lansing, Michigan, Model Cities Program. He has provided consulting services and conducted training seminars for organizations such as Atmosphere Processing Inc., Consumers Energy, Defense Logistics Agency, Dow Chemical USA, Dow Chemical Europe, Dow Corning, Fabri-Kal, First Federal Savings & Loan of Kalamazoo, First of America Bank, the Kalamazoo YWCA, Steelcase, and The Upjohn Company. Andy has been the co-recipient of grants totaling $490,000 to conduct customer satisfaction research for the Defense Logistics Information Service (DLIS). Earlier in his career, he co-edited five editions of Readings and Cases in Basic Marketing and assisted Dr. E. Jerome McCarthy in writing the 4 th , 5 th , 6 th , and 7 th editions of Basic Marketing and the 1 st and 2 nd editions of Essentials of Marketing. He has published articles in Sales & Marketing Management, the International Journal of Service Industry Management, the Journal of American College Health, the Journal of Ambulatory Care Marketing, and numerous conference proceedings. He has also written article abstracts for the Journal of Product Innovation Management. A past president of the West Michigan Chapter of the American Marketing Association, Professor Brogowicz also holds memberships in the Academy of Marketing Science, the Adcraft Club of Detroit, Alpha Mu Alpha, the American Academy of Advertising, Beta Gamma Sigma, the DMEF Professors' Academy, the Marketing Management Association, and the Product Development & Management Association. |
