Robert Jorth: "Kalamazoo Promise: Where we started, where we are"

The first presentation in the 2007-08 Keystone Community Bank Breakfast Series will feature Robert Jorth, Executive Administrator of the Kalamazoo Promise. His presentation, "The Kalamazoo Promise--Where we started, where we are," begins at 8 a.m. in the Dean's Conference Room (Room 2150 Schneider Hall) of the Haworth College of Business on Friday, January 25. Complimentary breakfast will be served beginning at 7:30 a.m.

As executive administrator of the Promise, Jorth has established all of the processes and procedures for the implementation of this groundbreaking nationally recognized scholarship program.

Jorth was formerly employed as a quality assurance professional in the aerospace industry for nearly 20 years. He also has 10 years of experience as an independent database developer.

Jorth has played an active role in the community by as a leader in the creation of a grass roots community-organizing group, Interfaith Strategies for Advocacy and Action in the Community (ISAAC). He also served as the regional commissioner for youth soccer in Kalamazoo for three years.

Jorth has a Master's in Public Administration from Western Michigan University and a bachelor's degree from Wartburg College.

The Keystone Community Bank Breakfast Speaker Series is underwritten through the generosity of Keystone Community Bank. The series provides an opportunity for the local community to hear prominent business leaders, WMU faculty, alumni, and friends of the College of Business discuss current business issues, corporate strategies as well as key information regarding the continuing progress of the business college.
